Black rice Dosa / Black rice Crepes

Soaking time: 6-8 hours Prep time: 5 mins Cooking time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups black rice soaked overnight

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut

  • 1.5 cups water

  • Oil to drizzle

 

Instructions

  1. Soak Black rice for 6-8 hours minimum.

  2. Drain the soaked rice and put it in the blender.

  3. Add salt and grated fresh coconut and 1/2 cup water and blend to a smooth batter.

  4. Add 1 cup water. The consistency of the batter should be little thinner than the normal Dosa batter.

  5. Heat tava and pour a ladle of the batter and spread to make a round dosa.

  6. Drizzle oil and close a lid on the tava so the dosa doesn't turn out dry on one side.

  7. Take off the lid after 2-3 mins and flip to the other side.

  8. Let it cook for 2-3 mins.

  9. Serve with ghee and chutney.
